IPDEducation: know better...do better
Courses taught by IPD Education recognize applicable Federal (FAR) and State contracting laws and regulations. Requirements, such as 'Competitive Source Selection', 'Two-Phase Source Selection Process', 'advertisement', 'bidding requirements', 'Performance Criteria Package', 'qualification criteria', 'evaluation criteria', contract structures, etc. are discussed and explained in each class. "Specially Arranged" classes offered by IPD Education are detailed to the clients unique requirements
IPD Education teaches Facility Management techniques and Procurement processes that assure the cost, scope, and schedule benefits of Integrate Project Delivery. As a Private Entity, you can enjoy all the benefits of Integrated Project Delivery including: 6% lower project cost, 33% overall schedule savings, higher project quality, less administrative burden, reduced litigation risk, and "target" realization. This is accomplished by learning and employing 'IPD Best Practices' that induce positive results without the "restrictive and mechanized" standards and restraints applied to the Public Sector.
Since IPD creates and leverages the relationship formed between the Designer & Builder, the Owner now "controls" the project using the RFP Document (a compendium of contractual performance targets) rather than 'traditional plans & specs'. Plans & Specs are still used in IPD, but are not the 'controlling' document. The Owner's RFP now becomes the 'contractual document' that controls the project and must be satisfied by the designer/builder; irrespective of the their 'plans & specs'. This ability to create and leverage the RFP is what IPD Education teaches through presentation, discussion, templates, and class exercises.
Upon completion of the 3PQ Acquisition & Management System, you can immediately create and document a "Risk Analysis" for any project. This document is essential for mitigating risk, focusing management decisions, and structuring several critical components of any IPD model: including program development, performance specifying, qualification criteria, evaluation & selection criteria, incentive structures, quality assurance planning, and project substantiation. The "Risk Analysis" results are the 'Dominant Guide' for all management decisions made by Owners, Designers, and Builders.
Of course we think everyone involved in 'project delivery' can benefit, but their are 3 specific members of the Owner's staff and 'team' that should learn critical elements of IPD and Design-Build delivery. In many cases, the PM, CO, and DB have not operated under a IPD Contract. Our experience tells us that while the PM/CO have expertise with 'prescriptive-based' contacts (based on complete or 'bridging' plans & specs), many are challenged by 'performance-based' contracts and have little experience in exercising the 'controls' of IPD contracts.

This is done through advance planning (minimum 4 weeks) and does not alter our Standard Fees. For more information on this, of other education options, contact us.
