Integrated Project
Delivery,
or IPD, has
become a dominant ideology for project delivery over the past decade or so.
Characterized by its approach for defining the 'problem' and providing the
'solution' through a 'holistic' or integrated Team Approach, IPD is now
being promoted (in one form or another) by just about every constituency of
the Design and Construction Industry.
When using an integrated delivery approach,
owners recognize their changing role, and the importance of developing
their IPD leadership capability through the mastery of evolved management
systems, implementation tools, and skill sets. The owner's need for new and
evolved leadership and management capability is how IPDEducation can help.
3PQ©
was developed to identify and organize the roles and responsibilities of
resources in the delivery of a performance-based scope-of-work through
coordinated collaboration and knowledge exchange. As the name implies,
The 3PQ Management System©
is the management plan by which owners execute Integrated Project Delivery,
by use of Construction Management @ Risk, Early Contractor Involvement (ECI), Design-Build, IPD Contract Model,
or any other integrated delivery approach.
The 4-Module coursework teaches how
Risk Profiles change when using IPD. It
teaches The 3PQ
Management System which imparts IPD
knowledge and a "work breakdown structure" for the development and execution
of Integrated Project Delivery. This is done by recognizing the
7 Fundamental Expectations of every Owner,
and by focusing on the owner's role as both a leader
and an IPD Team Member.
